Copyright is the right of an author related to his/her copyright work from the scope of literature, science and arts and it refers to the exclusive right to use the work concerned.

The author shall have the right to prohibit unauthorised use of his/her work. Notwithstanding the prohibition, the author may allow reproduction, performance, recording and broadcasting of the work created. The author will protect his/her interests by a copyright contract which contains a detailed work description, method of use, name of a person authorised for copyright usage and corresponding compensation.

In case of copyright infringement (e.g. unauthorised download and distribution of a copyrighted photograph) the author shall have no alternative but to seek protection through the courts. The damages caused by the infringement are mostly material damages, but often they are non-material damages the author suffers.

By the increasing use of the Internet there is an increasing tendency of copyright infringement. Therefore, the issue of breach and protection of this kind of law shall become more and more important.
